Dillon Montana! for Easter!

Grandma Blomquist now has sheep on the ranch.  Fun to see the new lambs and the black sheepies
This is a game we all like to play, see if mom can get on the haystack!  Yes I did, and I have reconfirmed that I would  be really good on the show Wipeout!
Grandma also has chickens now!  The other people who own her land have done all sorts of things to the the old ranch.
This is a game we like to call "You Better stay on it, or jump forwards"  (The other 10 year old girl is Shawn's cousins kid Cassidy)
Samuel and Shawn...teaching the finer points of the 22 handgun.  They all loved shooting!
Hyrum was the best at clay pigeon throwing!  Shawn and Dallin hardly ever missed!
Being in MOntana is so peaceful and wonderful.  We were glad to visit with Grandma, she is 88 now and gets lonely out there all by herself.  She has had plenty of company this weekend.  We loved going out to Papa T's for dinner, talking and visiting.  Grandma is always in her chair, reading or looking out the window at all the neat animals that just wonder into her yard.  I hope have a few more years of going to visit her there.  I learned how to ride a dirt bike there, shoot a gopher, shoot a big gun, float in the canal, manage with a whole family reunion there at the ranch, take a ride on a zip line, get licked by a cow and play card games.  I love the ranch too!

The Parkers Come to UTAH!

YEA!  Aunt Amy, Uncle Paul and Cousin Christopher gave the whole family a lovely suprise with a visit before Christopher goes on his mission to California!  We got to spend the evening with them and Samuel even did the FHE lesson!  Shawn shared a few of his mission stories and some of what "not" to do's which are priceless info that Christopher can decide with to do with :)  It was super to see them!  We all went out to dinner with Aaron and Alison/Chase, Mom/Dad, April/Scott up in Park City.  We are kinda a noisy bunch!  That was super!

The missionary and the future one!  Striking a pose!

PROM!!!

Look at my Dallin...so cute and handsome!  He asked Nicole to go to prom with him.  And he asked me tons of questions about how Prom should go down, like what to wear, eat, do I have to get a limo? Things like that.  And not like I'm the expert, but I did go to one.
Dallin and his friend Tony.  Looking cool!
And of course, Dallin, Mr. Humble.  Where does he get that from??
And the best part, with them  both, Nicole and Dallin. THis stage of life is so fun!  I actually love having a teenager!  I call it Phase 2 of life.  Good times

SPRING!

Hi all
My flower beds are in state of gratefulness.  Samuel and Hyrum just added 3 inches of mulch to them!  All of my flowers were starting to creep up and I didn't want to have to go around each on of them when they got bigger!  I'm just glad it snowed on them two days ago.  Next project is to have Hyrum and Samuel till the garden with the rest of the mulch.  I love my track break landscaping crew!

Sweetheart Dance!

Dallin styling for the Dance!  Black shirt, black pants, red tie, looking good!
Nicole asked him by giving Dallin a pile of desserts that he had to eat (imagine that!) and find pieces of her name.  Man, he had to eat like 20 desserts!  The pain!
I think he's handsome:)  Mom's can say that.
Yea!

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas from the Becks,
This is what Christmas morning looked like at our house... a bunch of crazy kids controlling the X-box with their hands!  Kinect is great!

Hyrum and his happy smile!
Mr. Dallin, he got a wallet for his fancy new driver's licence!
Sierra will now be in tune with her electric tuner.
We love games and puzzles on Christmas morning. We gave the kids a bunch of letters  and they figured out that we got them new drums for the Rock Band.

We got a new keyboard...after a 20 min. piano code they had to break using the coded keyboard above.
They found out the code and where the item was hidden.  Samuel read the clue out loud and it said, "Corolla Trunk"  and Samuel asks, "Do we have a Corolla Trunk????? OHHH that's Dad's car!" Very funny
The coded keyboard.  It took Shawn a hour to put that one together...Christmas eve
The kid trying to figure out which note from their song was the right one
This is where the elves left a gift for us
Those silly elves, playing in everyone's room and leaving notes.  The Elves liked playing with everything small---from the little guitar, to Sierra's pet bird, to Samuel's pet hermit crabs...every thing little
Ohh  look at us two!
THAT'S MY SHIRT MT. DEW!
This is Christmas eve...they got new blankets!

Beck Family Christmas 2010

Beck Christmas 2010
Merry Christmas to one and all,
Here's our top adventures and excitement for 2010

* Our family explored the Olympic National Park over Spring Break. We loved the moss covered trees, the tide pools, and of course, a hotel where we could get out of the rain!!!
* Weeze got her best time ever on an olympic distance triathlon at the Spudman triathlon. It was so great to do a triathlon with a whole group from our ward. Half of them had never done a triathlon before!!! Loved it!
* Sierra's pet bird Tulio is our family pet! He loves to be whistled to and he whistles back. He loved to whistle around 2:45 every afternoon when she comes home from school!
* We (Shawn) FINISHED the BASEMENT! We love having 3 bedrooms, a living room, bathroom, utility room, and laundry room all downstairs! And I even dusted the window sills! Now Shawn is ready to do things he WANTS to do...go hiking, dirt biking, going to the gym...
*Samuel is so excited to have his own room! He and Hyrum did a total room makeover and cleaned and organized their new rooms! They were so thrilled with the new bedding that Mom surprised them with.
* Dallin played football for our new Herriman High school. The team went to the playoffs! That's an amazing thing for a first year High School! He loved playing even though he had a few injuries! Oh and Dallin is getting his driver's license in 2 days!
* We all learned something new this year, how to take a canoe down a very shallow Payette river and paddle and camp for 4 days! We all learned how to pack a canoe, paddle and not tip it over, and avoid river obstacles! Thank you Grandpa Beck for inviting us on this adventure!
* Hyrum turned 12 and is a Deacon now. It's so great to see him passing and Dallin blessing. Hyrum also has been into Airsoft guns this year and had a war for the 12 year old party!
* Shawn had a great weekend of dirt biking with his brothers Jared, Jason and -bro.-in-law, Tom. They all met up and and played here in Utah. Our weather pooped out on us, rain and more rain...but come on...it's dirt biking. They did all spend 2 hours cleaning the bikes though. Thank you neighbors for the power washer!
* Having three kids in Young Mens and Young Womens, our summers were filled with Youth Conference, girls camp and Boy Scout camps! I'm so glad Shawn doesn't have to take vacation time off so I can be at all these events. Our Autumn Hills youth are the best!

We all hope that you all are being blessed with the spirit of Christ this season, and remember that we all are truly blessed because of him.

Love you all,
Shawn, Weeze, Dallin-16, Sierra-14, Hyrum-12, Samuel-10.

Christmas 2010 Lights!

What you see when you are coming into our subdivision...what's that???? a Santa Hat???

Hi all,

Here's the Beck's house for Christmas 2010. We have been experimenting with different designs

for the roof. We have found that a simple design really works the best! You can see this Santa Hat when you come into our subdivision and the kids love it. Shawn and Dallin put the lights on the roof, Sierra and I were on the ground guiding where to put the lights and Whalllaaaa!

Samuel and Hyrum love to Play on the roof. And this year, we had to shovel off the roof a bit. Well, like always, Shawn spouts out this advice to Samuel and Hyrum playing on the roof, " Tuck and roll if you fall off!" And mine is, "Just don't fall! You'll make us stop with the lights!"

Well, I think our advice was heeded. We are still all here.

Merry Christmas to you!!!

Pre-Thanksgiving sledding at Aunt WEEZES

We went over to the part for some great sledding before Thanksgiving! Samuel good points for keeping his eye on the jump target!
Hyrum for smoothest approach of newly built jump

Margaret for best streamline position
Garrett for best color of sled...the orange torpedo

Virginia zipping on down, loose form but happy

We give Kellis a 8 on height and style points

Issac takes the show with a 10! The best height and tight position .

Living Planet Aquarium visit with the cousins!

Living Planet Aquarium..nurse shark
Sea turtle that got hit by and boat, they chopmed on by a shark. She was weights glued onto her back so she can dive. Sierra loved this turtle!

The Sting rays feel very rubbery!

It took some courage to actually touch them...then it was more like a game when they would swim around to see if you could touch them again.
There are penguins here...the glass reflection was messing up the camera.

Thanks again April and the cousins for inviting us to the Aquarium for Spectrum day. Yes, my sister knows me well and knows that I wasn't ever gonna pay 9$ a person to get into that place, so FREE was the asnwer for me. My kids loving exploring around with the cousins all the in's and outs of places. I think they love the freedom of finding things out on their own and then showing us when we slow pokes come by. Sierra now wants a turtle.
